Art Senses exhibition emphasises the works made by blind and visually impaired artists from all over the world. This event is in direct connection with EXPO 2015 and, therefore, the artists may communicate the EXPO theme ‘Energy for Life’.
The exhibition is in Milan from the 12th to the 26th September 2015, at the prestigious Institute for the Blind, in Via Vivaio 7. The award ceremony takes place during the Exhibition Opening Ceremony in Milan on 17th September 2015. Sergio Staino (Italian comics author, satirist and film director) and other authoritative members of the art world and of public institutions form the jury who awards the prizes and also selected suitable works for the exhibition.
Artists are judged in following categories:
Sculpture
Painting-graphic
Photography
Video installation
The exhibition is envisioned as a travelling one and, if it gets funding from the Creative Europe programme, it will transfer during the biennium 2015-2016 to other Italian and European venues. The previous Art Senses exhibition was exhibited also in Estonia, twice: first at the Museum of New Art in the city of Pärnu from the 1st to the 28th May 2015 and then in the National Library from the 5th to the 26th August 2015.
